Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters

Recently, Ulta was having a Buy One Get One 50% Off sale on Revlon products, so I decided to take advantage of the promotion and finally try out the most raved about Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters.  When they were released, just over a month ago, they took the online beauty community by storm; everyone was running out to find them and reviews and swatches were all over the web.

These Lip Butters are advertised as a buttery balm with a high shine of color.  Also working as a smooth balm that hydrating, instantly leaving your lips softer.

I'm one of those girls that can't get enough of lip butters or balms, I have them every where and I love them in all sorts of colors.  To say that these Revlon Lip Butters are just a balm, in my opinion, is an understatement.  the pigmentation of the lip butters are more than a balm and less than a lipstick.  Although I do find these lip butter hydrating, I find that they are more of a creamy, moisturizer for the lips than a treating lip balm, because they do feel a bit thicker when applied to the lips.

I do love the Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butters, and I can understand why they are flying off the shelves.  However, I would not apply them on their own without another sort of lip balm to keep my lips hydrated, because the formula is a bit too creamy.

But the colors in the line are absolutely gorgeous and I do find them worth buying.  It's definitely a much more affordable substitute for the Fresh Sugar lip balms that I love so much, but definitely not a dupe or replacement.

Urban Decay Mini Lip Junkie in Naked

This mini Lip Junkie came with any order of the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette.  So instead of the mini Primer Potion, they decided to change thins up and included a lip gloss instead.

The Urban Decay Lip Junkie is a super shiny gloss that is suppose to be soft and smooth.  It also has a refreshing scent and taste to it, kind of like mints (which makes it quite different from other glosses).

Naked is just a neutral pink that is suppose to be versatile with any eye look or outfit.  Easy wearing and works with almost any skin tone.

In all honestly I kind of wish they just didn't include anything, primer or gloss, when it comes to their palettes.  Just because I have so many mini Primer Potions (and I hate the packaging of them), and this gloss was kind of a let down.  If they didn't include anything with the palette, it could drop the price down a bit.

The gloss was too tacky for me, even though they advertise that it's anything but gooey or tacky.  I do however, like the convenience of the packaging, because it slips easily anywhere.  But, the formula does not feel nice at all on my lips.

Smashbox Lip Enhancing Mega Gloss in Celebrity

Smashbox products are pretty underrated on the online beauty community.  Other than their primers and maybe their liners, not many of their products are talked about.  So of course I wanted to share one of the newer Smashbox products that I wanted to give a try.

The Smashbox Lip Enhancing Mega Gloss in the shade Celebrity was in the Sephora sale section a little while ago, so I decided to give it a try (since it was around $6 for a full sized product).  Usually, I am not really drawn to the makeup in the sale section of any beauty site, because the reviews always end up poorly, however, I thought this Smashbox lip gloss looked like something worth trying.

The Smashbox Lip Enhancing Mega Gloss has a very big and very cushiony applicator that covers the lips in beautiful color in one easy swipe.  The formula of the gloss gives the lips a high shine, while still being creamy (not tacky), giving your lips a more luscious look.  It is Vitamin E and sunflower seed oil nourish with a touch of creamy color and soft radiant shine.

Celebrity is a beautiful rosy pink that is perfect for any skin tone and I believe look beautiful for anyone and for any occasion.  I absolute enjoy using this gloss for those days where I want more of a creamy lipstick look that's easier to apply throughout the day.  It's not tacky at all, and feels soft and creamy ont he lips without being too thick.

MAC Technakohl in Brown Border

I have never tried MAC eye liners before, so receiving one of MAC's Technakohl liners as a gift for the Holidays was quite a treat.  This technakohl liner in the shade Brown Border was a part of the MAC Holiday collection from the Iced Delights Eye Bag.

Although it was a part of their holiday collection, I believe Brown Border is a part of their permanent range of colors from the technakohl line.

Brown Border is a medium, dark brown liner that is very warm.  You can never go wrong with medium brown liners such a Brown Border because it does bring a softness to the eyes that is different from black liners.  A more effortless look that still brings out some definition to your eyes.

The liner is quite soft and I found the application to be very smooth.  It is a twist up liner, which I am not always fond of, but I won't complain since it has worked so well thus far.  It's pretty long wearing, but mind you that you should let it set before expecting long wear from it.

MAC Haul

MAC releases collections like no other makeup brand.  They are constantly releasing limited edition collections with very creative themes to them.  However, it's been awhile since I've actually been excited for a collection since a lot of the past collections have just been very mediocre.

But, ever since the press release for Naturally and Iris Apfel were released I couldn't wait to get my hands on some of the products.

From the Iris Apfel collection I only picked out the following product:

- Eye Shadow in Diamond Dove

Sadly, all of the lipsticks were sold out and I couldn't get my hands on them.

However, I was much more lucky with the Naturally collection (which I was most excited about).  I picked up the following:

- Mineralized Eye Shadow in Daylight
- Mineralized Eye Shadow in Summer Haze
- Mineralized Eye Shadow in Cloudy Afternoon
- Mineralized Blush in Subtle Breeze
- Mineralized Blush in Fresh Honey
- Mineralized Skinfinish in Redhead
- Mineralized Skinfinish in Blonde


I know it's a lot, however I know these are all things I would reach for a lot in both spring and summer seasons and I regret nothing!

MAC Eye Shadow Duo - Ice Delights

This was one of the eye shadow duos from MAC's limited edition Holiday collection, from the Ice Delights Eye Bag.  I am kind of obsessed with these eye shadow duos that MAC have been carrying, because the packaging is so sleek and convenient.

The shadows included in the duo are the following:

- Baby It's Cold Outside (cream)
- Woodsmoke (deeper forest green)

Baby It's Cold Outside is is a creamy beige with tiny shimmers in it.  The pigmentation is very rich for being a lighter color and the texture is absolutely smooth and silky.

Woodsmoke is a forest green with undertones of red browns with a frosty finish.  It's just as soft as Baby it's Cold Outside and the pigmentation is also great.

I grabbed this duo mainly because of Woodsmoke, because it's not like any other shadow and it's just beautiful in the crease.  It's not an apparent green, but that what makes me like it even more.
