Revlon Haul

As summer nears, I am preparing by stocking up on a few of my favorite lip colors for the season.  This summer, bright lips have really made a statement.  Pair a very neutral look with a pop of color with your lips is a great way to make a statement with your look.

Candy Apple, Sweet Tart, Lollipop, Tutti Frutti

Bold lips might not be for everyone, but that shouldn't stop you from rocking that trend.  One great product to keep on hand are the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters.  They give you that beautiful pop of color without being too overwhelming.  The colors are intensely pigmented, however can be applied very sheerly, helping you build up the color coverage to your own comfort.

I recently picked up the following colors:
- Candy Apple
- Sweet Tart
- Lollipop
- Tutti Frutti

Ulta was having a sale on Revlon products, Buy One Get One 50% Off (which might still be going on), so it was a great opportunity to pick these products up for a discounted price.

These colors are exactly what I need for that everyday pop of color, without being too in your face.

Chanel Precision Eyelash Curler

I have never really made a big deal about what brand of eyelash curler to use, seeing how I am not a habitual mascara user.  I always thought that other than the curve of the curler, all of them were really the same and gave the same results.

That is until I went to a Chanel event and tried their Precision Eyelash Curler for the first time.  I have never really had a problem finding a curler that fits my eye shape.  Although none of the curlers I've used in the past fit perfectly (there was always need for adjusting), I didn't think fit really mattered unless you were pinched.

However, the Chanel Eyelash Curler just fit perfectly with my eye shape.  It slide in comfortably and grabbed all of my lashes gently.  I also did not need to pump the curler or hold it for too long to get the results I wanted.

My lashes are long, but they grow straight down, making it quite hard to keep a curl for too long.  However a squeeze and the roots and ends of my lashes with the Chanel Precision Eyelash curler and I have beautifully curled lashes all day long.

I have no idea what it is with this specific curler, but the results are amazing and you can really tell the difference comfort and results wise.  Although it is pricey, it does come with two extra replacement silicone refill pads, the curler will last.

Henri Bendel Modernist Linear Earrings

Just recently, there was a Henri Bendel opening in the Chicagoland area, in the Westfield Old Orchard area, and I couldn't be more excited.  I have always heard great things about the store and but because I was hesitant to order their things online, I never have had the chance to own any of their accessories.  However, now that they are close by I get the chance to see what the store has to offer.

Henri Bendel is the signature New York accessories place to go to for every type of girl.  Everybody knows Henri Bendel for their signature brown and white stripes and since 1895 every stylish girl is tempted with the indulgences of what Henri Bendel has to offer.

These Modernists Linear Earrings were generously purchased for me by my parents, and I am absolutely in love with them!  They are cubic zirconia stones in brass and gold.  The drop earrings (dropping about 2") are the perfect length and just look beautiful dangling from your ears for any occasion.

I am absolutely in love with these and am very thankful for my parents for purchasing them for me.  I have definitely found me new, favorite jewelry store.

Freeman Cucumber Facial Peel-Off Mask

The one thing I love most when it comes to my skin care routine is when it's time to give myself a nice and long mask treatment.  I love wearing masks and find it extremely soothing and relaxing, especially after a very long day.  There are a number of different types of masks that I use, but overall I find myself liking the peel off masks the most.

One of the most refreshing masks that I use on a weekly basis is the Freeman Cucumber Facial Peel-Off Mask (I try to use it once a week, usually at the end of the week).

The Cucumber Facial Peel-Off Mask is a gentle mask that is a suppose to peel of any impurities from your skin.  The cucumber extract in the formula helps smooth out the skin's texture leaving it soft.

Cucumber extract has always been very well known as a great skin care treatment, so when I received this full sized bottle of Cucumber Facial Peel-Off Mask in my My Glam Bag a few months ago I was quite excited to try it.

The mask feels thick and sticky when squeezed from the bottle, but when you apply a thin layer all over your face it feels extremely light and refreshing.  You can instantly feel your skin just absorbing the ingredients and is very cooling.  After about 10 minutes, the fun begins and you can peel off the mask, which makes it feel like you are peeling away all of the impurities and dead skin cells.

Although this mask doesn't wrk for treating major skin issues, it's a great and affordable pick me up for your skin.

Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner

While I was on my skin care kick, one of the issues I wanted to solve was minimizing the appearance of pores on my skin.  One of the products I have been testing out was a deluxe sample of the Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner, which was given to me with one of my purchased from Sephora.

It takes a lot of patience, time, and research to find the right product when it comes to skin care.  And because there are so many products out there making all sorts of claims it's hard to immediately find the right product for you.  What might work for someone else might not go so well for you.

So receiving this sample was great because I get to test it out for free before deciding whether I want to commit.

The Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner claims to be "An instantly effective, mattifying pore refiner."  To smooth out the texture of your skin and giving it a matte finish, working as a good base for your foundation.  It also claims to "shrink pores, absorb oil, and keep shine at bay."

The product has a slight medicinal smell to it and also has a tint of color to it that seems to match well with my skin tone.  Although I found that it does work as a good base for foundation, smoothing out the texture and making my pores less noticeable, I do find that it fails at minimizing the appearance of my pores over time.  For me it just works as another temporary cover up.

This works for anyone with oily skin that needs to keep the shine away, but don't count on it to treat or even last all day.  Halfway through the day I find myself needing to blot or reapply again to keep the shine away.

I thank Sephora for giving me the opportunity to try out a great brand but I unfortunately will not be purchasing this specific product.  Although this specific Dr. Brandt product did not work well for me, I will be reviewing another product from the line soon that I feel did have some impact on my skin.

April Glam Bag

I know this ia late, but better late than never.  I received my Glam bag at the beginning of the month, but I had placed the bag in my storage drawers and forgotten to review it.

So here's everything that was included:
- Pink Makeup Bag
- Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil (ransom)
- DermStore Lip Quench Lip Treatment
- All-Belle Eyelashes
- MyGlam Eyeshadow and Eyeliner Brushes

I absolutely love the fact that they included a mini version of the Urban Decay liner that was not black (seeing how I have too many black liners).  I love the Urban Decay liners and am excited to try the shade Ransom (which is a dark purple).

I also love any sort of lip treatment when it comes to skincare and beauty products.  You can't have enough products to protect your lips, so this will definitely be spending a lot of time in my purse.

The brushes are soft and I think that they are a great improvement from the first blending brush that they had released.  So I definitely will get some uses out of these brushes.

I don't wear fake lashes, but they are beautiful, so I think I will just give them to a friend so they can get the love and some use out of them.

Definitely no bad feelings with April's bag, and I am definitely looking forward to getting my May bag soon.
