Sephora + Pantone Universe Color Of The Year Lipgloss

Spring and Summer of 2012 is all about the bright lips, and Sephora + Pantone Universe really knocked it out of the park with their lip products in their Color of the Year collection.

One of the glosses included in their collection is in the shade Tangerine Tango Luminous, which is a beautiful tangerine color with fine shimmers.  This is a high intensity gloss that gives your lips that extra dimension.  The formula of the gloss is extremely creamy and the color is very pigmented.  It sort of reminds me of lipstick in gloss form.

The gloss is pretty hydrating for a lipgloss and it does have a bit of tackiness to it (not too much compared to other glosses), making it pretty long wearing.  I love the color intensity of it and you can literally wear it alone for that beautiful pop of color.

I am especially in love with the applicator of the product.  It applies really smoothly and evenly.

Sephora + Pantone Universe Color Of The Year Eyeliner

When purchasing the Sephora + Pantone Universe Collection, the only product in the entire collection that I was unsure about was the eyeliner in Tangerine Tango Twist.

This is a long wearing liner that is creamy and extremely pigmented.  The color is extremely rich and the liner glads on smoother and is smudge proof.

I like that they included liners in the collection, however the black and brown liners are more practical compared to the Tangerine.  I would have preferred a Tangerine colored lip liner because then I would be able to wear it with the lipstick and gloss.  Because I don't wear bright and bold liners, I would probably have to try using this eye liner as a base for my shadows.

Even though I enjoy the formula of the liner, because I won't gravitate towards this color I would have to say that this is my least favorite product from the collection.

Sephora + Pantone Universe Color Of The Year Eyeshadow Quad

When Sephora + Pantone Universe released their color of the year limited edition collection, they could not leave out eyeshadow products.  The created a chic palette of shadows that contain silky, smooth textured shadows that are inspired by the color of the year, tangerine.

Scallop, Carnelian, Sparrow, Pavement

The palette contains the following shadows:
- Scallop (nude)
- Carnelian (orange)
- Sparrow (plum)
- Pavement (black glitter)

Although these shadows are as bright and bold as the rest of the tangerine inspired products in the collection, aside from the orange shadow, they work well to bring some balance to the collection by adding neutrals.

These shadows are a huge improvement from the permanent shadow line in the Sephora line.  They are creamy to the touch and blend well on the lids.  Although the colors are not as pigmented when swatched and applied, as they may seem in the package, the colors are buildable and still wearable.

I am enjoying the creamy matte nude shade, it's just beautiful when swept across the entire lid.  And the orange is not too intense, making it wearable when paired with the beautiful plum with brown undertones.  The glittery black is not my favorite and I can go without it (I would have preferred a matte black), but all in all I think they did a great job creating this palette.

Again, I am in love with the Inglot inspired packaging of the palette.  It definitely makes the product look and feel more luxurious, and is more travel friendly.

This isn't my favorite product from the entire collection because I do feel that the colors should be more pigmented.  But because the quality of the shadows are great, and the colors are still buildable, I am definitely glad I picked this up.

Sephora + Pantone Universe Color Of The Year Blush Duo

I can't get enough of blush, and when I saw the Sephora + Pantone Universe Blush Duo I just had to have it.  I was never really a fan of Sephora brand blushes, but this blush duo is definitely different from their permanent line.

The blushes are luxurious in texture and the colors are absolutely beautiful.  The formula is of fine pressed powder, making the blushes feel extremely silky, smooth.  They are light feeling and creamy to the touch, and apply flawlessly to your face.

The set contains the following shades:
- Desert Flower (matte orange)
- Coral (Tangerine with gold shimmer)

The shades can be worn alone, or combined beautifully for that Spring/Summer look.  I am in love with both shades, especially the matte blush.  And surprisingly, the shimmers in the coral is hardly noticeable on your cheeks.  Both shades give a nice finish on the cheeks and definitely give that beautiful flush of color.

I can't complain about the packaging also, very reminiscent of the Inglot palettes.  It's quite chic and luxurious, and it also keeps the product safe, making it travel friendly.

Definitely my favorite blush purchase of the year thus far.

Sephora + Pantone Universe Creme Lipstick in Tangerine Tango Cream

I had fallen in love with the Sephora + Pantone Universe Collection that was released a little over a month ago, and my favorite product from the collection has to be the Creme Lipstick in the shade Tangerine Tango Cream.

Tangerine is the color of the year and I believe that Sephora and Pantone Universe hit the mark on this product.  This is an extremely smooth and very creamy formula that applies on the lips with great color.  The pigmentation is amazing, and the color can be applied sheered out as a stain, or built up as an intense lip color.

I am in love with the vibrant color for the lips for the Spring and Summer season, so when I saw Tangerine Tango I knew that I just had to have it.  The lipstick is not only creamy, but also lives a great satin finish on the lips.

I am also in love with the chic packaging, which is some what reminiscent to the Tom Ford packaging.  It's a chic white with a strong magnetic closer.  Although this is a small tube of lipstick (convenient for traveling), it does have quite a weight to is.  Definitely looks and feels expensive.

I have to say that I never really love the Sephora brand products, but their Pantone Universe collection is of impeccable quality compared to their permanent line.

Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo

I have been on the search for the perfect dry shampoo for myself the past few months and I honestly feel like I finally have found my go to dry shampoo.  I picked up the Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo (travel size) to test out and I have fallen in love with it.

The Oscar Blandi Pronto Dry Shampoo is perfect for those in between washes, keeping your hair fresh and voluminous.  It removes any feeling of dirt of build at your roots.  "Natural rice, oat, and tapioca starches cleanse hair by absorbing excess oil, product, and grease and increase hair volume at the roots without weighing hair down. Triclosan and tea tree oil help treat the scalp and reduce the occurrence of dandruff, while the invigorating lemon verbena fragrance leaves hair smelling and feeling fresh." - Ulta

I absolutely love, love, love this product and the smell is just amazing.  What I love most about the product is the packaging.  I can't stand spray bottle dry shampoos because it just gets too messy.  The spout on this product directs the dry shampoo with any fuss or mess.  And once you massage the product onto your scalp, you are NOT left with any white residue.  I have dark hair and I cannot see any white residue left over.

This leaves me feeling fresh and allows me to wash every other day without losing the texture and volume of my hair. It does not feel sticky or thick, instead it's very light and feels like I have no product in my hair.  I also love that it comes in a travel size, as well as full size, because it allows me to just toss this in any bag to travel with.

Would recommend this to any girl out there looking for the perfect dry shampoo.

Chanel Makeup Artist Event and Gifts

This past weekend was every make up lover's dream.  The Nordstrom that I frequent was having a make up event for all of their counters, and my favorite Chanel counter had their trained Chanel experts and make up artists there to do free looks and give their expert opinion on beauty and skincare.

I was lucky enough to get a slot because I am quite close to one of the Chanel experts at the counter.  It was quite a fun experience to have them tell me what my skin needed and what I could eliminate from my skin care routine.  And the free makeover was also a bonus.

After my consultation, my mom decided to purchase me two items (she's the best!) and my favorite sales associate gave me a full bag of goodies! I was not expecting it and was quite shocked when she gave it to me.

My mom purchased me the following:
- Soliel Tan De Chanel Luminous Bronzing Powder (new from their summer collection)
- Sublimage Essential Regenerating Fluid

Then I got a bag full of the following samples and other freebies:
- Orange Tote
- Neon Pink Makeup Case
- Pink Chanel Chance Pouch
- Chanel Chance Fragrance samples (3)
- Precision Ultra Correction Line Repair
- Sublimage Essential Revitalizing Concentrate
- Glossimer in the shade 166 Amour
- Immitable Intense Mascara in the shade 10 Noir
- Chanel Eye Make Up Remover

One of the best days at the makeup counter ever!

JewelMint Gemma Earrings

It's been a while since I've been really excited for a certain piece on JewelMint.  Their selections are nice, but I haven't seen a piece for a few months now where I couldn't stop thinking about and just had to have.  That is until now.

This has to be one of my favorite purchases from JewelMint, the Gemma Earrings.  It's a pair of classic rocker chic earrings that just amp up any look.  They are 4" dangle and are gold plated with a vintage brass drop bottom.  They are accented with black glass beads, making them very wearable and gives the earrings a cool feel.

Pair these earrings with a pair of skinny jeans and a plain tee, with your hair tied up in a high pony tail and you'll make all of your day time outfits look chic.

April Birchbox

I still have yet to cancel my Birchbox subscription.  I know they've had it bad the last few months, but for some reason I have some hope for them.  And honestly they have stepped it up a bit this month.  I was a bit impresses with their products and I can see myself trying all of the products included in the box.

What was included:
- Befine Skincare Sampler
- J.R. Watkins Foot Repair Salve
- Pangea Organics Lip Balm
- Wonderstruck Taylor Swift
- Pangea Organics Facial Scrub
- Pangea Organics Eye Cream

I am most excited about the Pangea Organics products because I have heard great things about the brand.  Definitely happy with this month from Birchbox.

Tory Burch Sunglasses

I finally made the leap and bought my first pair of grown up sunglasses.  I have always been drawn to the more affordable sunglasses that you find int he little shops in the mall, sold for $5-20, however I never see them lasting more than one season.

With the more affordable sunglasses there are still risks because you don't get as much UV protection.  Honestly, you can see a huge difference when you're out on the beach wearing higher end glasses than with the more affordable brands.  I don't have to squint even with the glasses on and I can comfortably look up into the sky.

These are the Tory Burch aviators (number TY6006).  They are a classic style that fits my face perfectly.  The lens don't dip too low where they are rubbing against my cheeks, and the frames are light and fit comfortably.  The lens also have a hologram of the Tory Burch pattern that gives you an added protection.

I absolutely love the color and fit of these and I think they are perfect for my face shape.

WEN Cleansing Conditioner

I believe I received this WEN Cleaning Condition in the scent Sweet Almond Mint in my My Glam bag a few months ago.  I honestly had forgotten about it for a while, and when I found it during my monthly clean up I finally had the chance to try it.

The WEN Cleansing Conditioner is suppose to be a 5 in 1 formula that cleanses, conditions, deep conditions, detangles, and leave in conditions your hair (which is a lot to claim for just one product).  It's formulated with natural products, so it doesn't lather and keeps the nutrients in your hair.

I was excited to see this deluxe sample in my bag because I have been wanting to try this product for a while now, but didn't want to pay the price for a full sized bottle.

Honestly, I am glad I got to try the product for free because I don't think I will purchase the full size bottle.  I had to use the entire deluxe sample (which was a very generous size) on my hair for a one time use (and my hair is only about an inch past my shoulders).  It just takes too much product to thoroughly clean my hair, and I find myself spending too much time in the shower with this cleansing conditioner.

Although the concept is nice, I don't feel like this product is worth it.  There are so many other natural hair products that are out there that don't require you to use so much product and still gives your hair a beautiful sheen (such as LUSH hair products).

Bumble and Bumble Black Dry Shampoo

I have been wanting to try Bumble and Bumble products for a while now, and because I have been looking to try a dry shampoo I decided to purchase the Bumble and Bumble Black Hair Powder.

The Bumble and Bumble Dry Shampoo is a hair cleanser that absorbs any oil for that day after wash hair.  Because it's recommended that you don't wash your hair every day (because it does strip your hair of nutrients) this keeps your hair feeling clean and under control during those in between washes.

The tinted drying shampoo is suppose to be nice for dark hair, giving it that dark shade.  Because the tint was recommended to me I just decided to go with it.

I love how it leaves me hair feeling matte and clean, however I absolutely HATE THE TINT! It leaves black remnants  everywhere if you are not cautious (which is hard to be when it comes in a spray bottle) and it's just absolutely messy.

I do like the formula, so I think I might go return this tinted dry shampoo and go for the original dry shampoo from Bumble and Bumble.

I am still on the hunt for the perfect dry shampoo brand that preferably isn't in a spray bottle, so if any of you have any recommendations that would be great!

Kate Somerville EradiKate Acne Treatment

I have been on a skin care kick lately, wanting to get my skin in better condition for Summer, and one of my newest purchases is the Kate Somerville EradiKate Acne Treatment.

The EradiKate (which is an absolutely adorable name) is very similar to the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion.  It's a blemish spot treatment that heals blemishes and prevents future breakouts.  It's formulated with the highest level of sulfur to treat any presence of acne or bacterial build up, leaving a smoother, clearer complexion.

Let me tell you I am absolutely IN LOVE with this product.  It's one of the most gentle acne spot treatments I have ever used and the results are noticeable within 24 hours.  You just apply it on any breakout areas and then let it work it's magic overnight.

For smaller breakouts I see results immediately.  With bigger, more noticeable breakouts I see an improvement in a little over a day, since it takes a little more time for the bigger imperfections to diminish.

I definitely feel like this is going to be one of my go to, holy grail skin care products that I will use for a lifetime.

Real Techniques Brushes

I am always looking for great quality and affordable makeup brushes.  They say an artists needs the right tools to create a masterpiece.  Well, a makeup artists (or makeup junkie) needs the right brushes to create beautiful looks.

Instead of spending an insane amount of money on brushes, finding more affordable alternatives that get the job done just as well (if not better) is always preferred.  So when I heard about the Real Technique brushes, created by the well known make up artist from London, Samantha Chapman, I knew I just had to give them a try.

Blush Brush

The Blush Brush is one of my favorite brushes from the collection.  It's a synthetic brush, which is perfect for flawlessly applying powder and cream makeup, that is tapered at the end.  The shape is absolutely perfect for precise application of blush and contouring around the face.

Powder Brush

The Powder Brush is big and soft, perfect for applying face powder for finishing or setting your foundation.  With it being synthetic, you can really buff in product to your skin.  It's great for blending out blush or bronzer.

Both of the brushes are extremely soft and well made; and they are definitely comparable with the higher end brushes found in department stores (for the fraction of the price).  I would definitely recommend these brushes to anyone out there looking for great brushes at better prices.

Boscia Purifying Cleansing Gel

I have been wanting to try the Boscia cleanser for a while now and I finally got the chance to try it after finishing off some of my other cleansers.  The Boscia Purifying Cleansing Gel is a sulfate free cleanser that removes make up and deeply cleanses the skin without stripping the moisture from the skin.

The cleanser lathers gently and purifies the pores, making the skin feel fresh.  It's perfect cleansing after a long day of work or a long night out with the friends.

I absolutely love using this cleanser with my Clarisonic Mia for that extra deep cleansing.  It's extremely gentle and I love that my skin doesn't feel dull or dry after using it.  I can see a difference in my skin and it's amazing with removing makeup.  It works well for anyone with oily or combination skin, keeping oil production under control without over drying the skin.

I also love the packaging of the cleanser.  Because it's a pump, it's easier to dispense and just sits nicely on the bathroom skin or in the shower.

Definitely going to keep this as one of my prime cleansers to pair with my Clarisonic Mia.

YSL ROUGE PUR COUTURE Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stain - 10 Rouge Philtre

One of the products that has been raved about on the online beauty community that I have been wanting to try are the YSL ROUGE PUR COUTURE Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stains.  I have been wanting to try lip stains for a long while now, but haven't found one that I have been willing to purchase (due to texture).

The YSL ROUGE PUR COUTURE Vernis À Lèvres Glossy Stains are a new type of lip product.  They give you the look of a gloss with a wear of a stain.

The texture and formula is incredible light and glides ont he lips smoothly (as long as you remember to keep your lips in good condition, i.e. exfoliating and moisturizing).  The pigment is rich and the finish is beautiful.

I chose the shade 10 Rouge Philtre because the Spring and Summer season is all about the pop of color and this coral/red color definite gives you a pop of color.  It's an incredibly pigmented color and although it is a stain, as you wear it throughout the day you get the natural look of a just bitten red lip.

I love the luxe packaging and how compact it is.  The wand it comes with is perfect for an even application of the product.

Although this product is long wearing, it is not a permanent stain.  If you kiss the back of your hand (or your significant other) it will transfer and it does fade a bit throughout the day, but the rich color is still present on your lips.  For my preferences, it meets all of my expectations for what I am looking for in a stain.  It's hydrating, smooth, and pigmented.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in Rose Gold

I have a lot of catching up to do when it comes to reviewing a few makeup products that I purchased in the beginning of the year (yes beginning of the year, I am quite behind).

There were a few Bobbi Brown products I had purchased with a gift card that I had received and I am finally remembering to review them.

One of the products that I purchased, and that I love the most is the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact in the shade Rose Gold, which is from their beautiful Rose Gold collection.

The Bobbi Brown shimmer bricks are supposedly hand made in Italy and works as a beautiful highlighter, blush, and each bar doubles up as a great shadow color.  Sweeping this Rose Gold shadow at the top of the cheeks will give that great glow for the Spring and Summer season.

I have always wanted to try their shimmer bricks, but I was always turned down by very shimmery products.  However, the Rose Gold shimmer bricks gives a beautiful sheen, and isn't glittery at all.

I am absolutely loving this product and am so glad I got to purchase it with a gift card!

Sephora + Pantone Universe Color Of The Year Collector's Edition Set

This has to be one of my most favorite purchases for the month of April, the Sephora + Pantone Universe Color Of The Year Collector's Edition Set (limited edition).

Sephora and Pantone Universe collaborated to create the color of the year and bring it into the beauty world, creating this lovely set consisting of six beauty products for the eyes, lips and face based on the color Tangerine.

This set contains:
- 0.02 oz Color of the Year Eyeliner in Tangerine Tango Twist
- 0.31 oz Color of the Year Eyeshadow Quad
- 0.35 oz Color of the Year Prisma Chrome Blush
- 0.38 oz Color of the Year Blush Duo
- 0.1 oz Color of the Year Créme Lipstick
- 0.17 oz Color of the Year Lip Gloss

The colors are absolutely exotic and unique, and screams Spring and Summer for 2012.  I am looking forward most to the creme lipstick and the blushes.

Because the Sephora + Pantone Universe products have been talked about so much already in the beauty community, would you all still like for individual reviews on the products?
