NARS Pro-Prime

One of the most essential makeup products that I need in my makeup bag has always been a primer.  I can't apply my makeup without applying a face primer first.  The reason being is that it does help my makeup last throughout the day, but most importantly is that it also works as a protective layer between your skin and your foundation.  Not only do you want to make your skin look beautiful and flawless with your makeup, but you also want to make sure that you keep it healthy.

So one of my all time favorite face primer has been the NARS Pro-Prime Pre Refining Primer.

Honestly, you can never go wrong with NARS products.  The NARS Pro-Prime Pore Refining Primer is a gel based primer (perfect for anyone with dry skin, but also works with any skin type, I have combination skin) that helps refine the appearance of your pores, controlling shine and ultimately giving you a matte finish for your foundation application.

Because it is a gel based primer, it is moisturizing.  Although it does reduce any appearance of shine on my face, it does not give me a flat matte finish, which is not a bad thing at all.  It still givs my skin a great look.

Before you apply your makeup, think about the canvas you have to work with.  You want to prime and protect for beautiful, long lasting makeup.
