Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows

Maybelline recently released a new line of cream eye shadows (very similar to the MAC Paint Pots) in their Eye Studio line.  The collection consists of 10 cream in a pot form ranging from beautiful neutrals to bright and bold colors.  The description claims that these cream shadows are crease and smudge proof with long lasting wear, up to 24 hours, which is a pretty bold claim.

I am obsessed with the MAC Paint Pots, so when I found these in stores, I thought they would be nice to try and compare, since they are less than half of the price of MAC Paint Pots.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows: $6.59 (at Target)
MAC Paint Pot: $17.50

I usually don't have much luck with drugstore eye products, except when it comes to Revlon products.  So this was a jump for me to give Maybelline a try, but they have been impressing me more and more lately.

What's nice about their Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows is that they include both shimmery and matte shades, giving you beautiful colors and different finishes.  I picked up the cream shadows in two different shades from their neutral selection:

Tough As Taupe & Bad To The Bronze

Tough As Taupe

Tough As Taupe is a beautiful matte shade that just makes a great crease color that I enjoy using with the shadows from my Naked 2 palette.  It's quite hard to find a cream shadow in a matte finish, so this is a dream to have in my collection.

Bad To The Bronze is like any other bronze color that you can find in MAC Paint Pots (making it a great dupe) and makes a beautiful all over the lid color for that sexy and sultry look.

When it comes to the texture of the cream shadows, they are very creamy and smooth.  The pigmentation is amazing and application is very blendable and smooth.    I am absolutely amazed and very impressed with the wear and feel of the cream shadows.  They are incredibly long lasting and the creaseless, which is amazing to say for a drugstore brand.  I wore this for the entire day underneath my shadows as a base and it made my shadows look more vibrant and stayed on all day.  Although I cannot, and will not, test their 24 hour claim (because it's not necessary to wear makeup for that long), I can comfortably say that the Maybelline Color Tattoo Eyeshadows will last for a 10-12 hour day.

xoxo,

Eve
